While our core focus is speculative home remodeling and building, we selectively take on 4 to 6 large-scale client projects per year. Our portfolio spans high-end kitchens, bathrooms, full-home renovations, and seamless home additions, each tailored to reflect our clients' unique style, needs, and expectations.


As a Project Manager at Character Companies, Inc., you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of residential construction projects, from initiation to completion. You will work closely with our Senior Project Manager, stakeholders, clients, design, production, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure that projects are executed on-schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Assist Senior Project Manager the development of comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget. Oversee execution by collaborating with production and design teams to ensure all standards and requirements are met.
  • Employee Allocation: Assist Senior Project Manager with the selection process, obtain bids, and schedule subcontractors, trades, vendors, and other relevant parties.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed on project progress, addressing concerns, and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate and oversee all project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure project goals and timelines are met. 
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work meets or exceeds industry and company standards by conducting regular inspections and quality assurance checks.
  • Budget Management: Continuously monitor project budgets and promptly communicate with the Assist Senior Project Manager when additional resources are needed or adjustments are required.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, including subcontractors, to achieve project objectives while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment and ensure adherence to all safety, cleanliness, and organizational regulations and protocols.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed project records, including but not limited to progress reports, change orders, daily logs, and other relevant documentation.
  • Agreements: Assist Senior Project Manager in executing contracts with subcontractors and help prepare change orders for customers.
  • Reporting: Report project progress weekly to Senior Project Manager and update schedules as necessary for each project.

Key Metrics:

  • Project scheduling and logistics: manage timelines, resources, and tasks to ensure efficient progress, minimize delays, and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and materials
  • Customer satisfaction: meeting or exceeding customer expectations by delivering quality work, maintaining clear communication, resolving issues promptly, and delivering projects on schedule

Qualifications:

  • Must have 2+ Years in the home building industry to apply
  • Extremely strong communication skills
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in residential construction project management (Commercial Construction Experience is NOT Applicable)
  • Additional carpentry and field experience
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficient in project management software and tools, JobTread experience preferred
  • Vast knowledge of current local building codes, construction practices, safety regulations, permitting, and inspections
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Fluency in English
  • Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Available on-call for after hour emergencies
